Ralph Ellison wrote that “Knowing where we are has a lot to do with our knowing who we are.” And this series “In Plain Sight” explores just that: how music informs, recalls and locates us in particular times and places. This meaning behind music is hiding in plain sight, connections that we will explore through four different playlists.

Episode 1: In Situ: Music and the Spaces it Creates
Songs occupy all sorts of spaces–in our memories, in the echoes of the locations where they were recorded or performed. All songs are recorded in a particular time and place that can still be heard and perceived.
